Here are some pics of our medal tally. I know it looks really tiny but the poster is huge. The kids were swarming around me this morning while I was recording the tallies. We looked up a website for the tally count. The kids were so excited that they ended up reading the information off my laptop for me. That way I didn't have to keep going back and forth checking which country was next. I am LOVING it!
Student 1: Bel-gee-um? Ahaha! That's not a country!
Student 2: No, it's Bel-jee-um.
Me: It's pronounced Bel-jum and, yes, it is a country!
I love that these kids are learning new countries' names! I am too! Azerbaijan? Love it! I heard one boy telling his mum about our poster this afternoon as he was leaving. I love that they are involved in the Olympics in SOME way now. One girl even said to me this morning "I can't wait to see who got medals because I don't watch it on TV at home".
I have updated the little document I shared yesterday with some more country names! Click here to get it! I will keep adding and sharing for those who wish to use it!
I'll be back on the 1st for Mrs. Stanford's massive Product Swap!
